My son had taken diamondback mountain bike out in the snow a couple of times & had fun. They are in our first full week of spring they has been on this every day. It is been great for him to learn hand brakes, & how to shift. They keeps up with us well on diamondback mountain bike although diamondback mountain bike is only a six speed. They appear to be sturdy & nice quality. I occasionally take a ride as well (5'10"" 170 lbs) with no issue. Size looks like it ought to feet a tiny 6-7 years elderly all the way through 10-12. light, nice brakes & transmission (both Shimano). It looks nice & appears to be of first rate quality. Since it is frigid chilled & snowy here, my son has not used it yet, so I cannot comment on the way it performs. However, they bought it as a Christmas present & were disappointed to find that the front brake was broken. Since they had limited time to get the bicycle put together so it could be prepared for Christmas, my husband had to go to a local bicycle shop & buy the part for $15.
